What to Do When You See a White VGA Light on Your Asus Motherboard.

You must check the compatibility of the graphic card and the motherboard in the first place.   • Power supply

The PSU of the CPU is responsible for providing power to all the parts of the PC. Thus, you must check if the power supply is proper, and in case the wires are not plugged in right, or maybe the voltage is not apt, you are surely going to face trouble. If your power supply comes out to be the culprit, you might need to replace it too! Some of the components of your PC may stop working in case there is a disrupted current flow or low voltage to your system. You must have your graphics card placed just right. In case it is loosely connected to the PCIe slot, the VGA lights might appear to be on. Thus, you will need to remove all the cables and detach them from the PCIe slot, and then connect them all over again. Disconnect the card and then re-insert it to see if it is placed right.

  • Figure out the damages

In case your PC has fallen from a height, you might have a chance of getting an issue with the GPU or the PCIe slot. This may cease the communication between the graphics card and the motherboard. Remember that the connector of the Graphics card contains several delicate gold-plated lines which may hinder communication if even a single line gets damaged. Although there is a high chance for your gold-plated lines to get stained due to extensive usage, you must clean them appropriately with the help of a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to avoid much damage.

  • BIOS setting

The Basic Input / Output System is the major component for connecting all the devices of your PC to the motherboard. Any change in the BIOS setting of your PC might call errors, and thus, resetting it to the factory default will help in solving the same. The best way through which you can reset the BIOS setting is by directly resetting it with the help of the Complementary Metal oxide semiconductor. You may also reset it with the help of a CMOS Jumper.

Once you do the BIOS update, the VGA light issue can be expected to get rid of! Updating the BIOS is easy with the help of the flash BIOS button present on your I/O panel.

  • Check stains on the PCIe slot

Check if there is any dirt or stain on the PCIe slot of your motherboard. Use a cotton cloth to get rid of the same, in case there is any! There should not be any dust around the video card or its ports. A compressed air duster may help you too, in doing this job.
